Local Flavor: Integrated Holiday Campaign

Client:
Warehaus

Architecture & Engineering
Date:
2024

In 2024, during the 275th Anniversary of York County, Warehaus launched a holiday campaign rooted in place, pride, and community impact. The initiative was awarded 1st Place for Best Holiday Campaign and overall Best in Show at the SMPS Philadelphia Marketing Communication Awards.

Rather than sending a traditional corporate gift, the goal was to create something that reflected the firm’s architectural legacy and its deep connection to York, Pennsylvania. The result was a fully integrated experience that combined physical design, storytelling, and digital engagement.

The Concept

The campaign centered on the idea of “Local Flavor,” interpreting both taste and personality. A reusable kraft tote featured a custom grid-style illustration highlighting recognizable York icons, from the York Fair to York Barbell.

Inside, locally sourced snacks were intentionally selected to connect to recent Warehaus projects. York Peppermint Patties tied to the York County History Center. Stauffers Animal Crackers connected to the York SPCA. Each item reinforced the firm’s tangible impact on the community.

Extending the Experience

The physical gift was supported by a digital campaign designed to deepen engagement.

  • An interactive York-themed memory game
  • Highlights of Warehaus projects across the county
  • A curated Spotify playlist featuring artists with York County roots

The campaign achieved a 20% email open rate and an 11.5% click-through rate, significantly above industry benchmarks.

Execution

The campaign was developed and executed entirely in-house by a two-person marketing team. I led the strategy, creative direction, design system, photography, and digital execution from concept through production.

Every touchpoint, from tissue paper to typography to web layout, was designed to feel cohesive and intentional.

As a lifelong York resident, this project carried personal meaning. It honored the community that shaped both the firm and me.

Recognition aside, the strength of this campaign lies in alignment. When strategy, story, and execution move together, even a small team can deliver work that resonates at a high level.
